LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Aerosmith (Legendary Edition) marks fifty years since the band's self-titled debut, released in the United States on 5 January 1973. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry went back to the original recordings and tapes with the producers Zakk Cervini — known for blink-182 and Halsey — and Steve Berkowitz, and arrived at a new 2024 album mix.
Two Japanese CD editions exist. The three-disc Legendary Expanded Edition, limited, UICY-80718, pairs a remaster of the original album with that 2024 mix and adds a live set from Paul's Mall in Boston on 20 March 1973, recorded soon after the record came out, together with previously unreleased studio material and a sixteen-page booklet of unseen photographs. The single-disc Legendary Edition, UICY-16398, carries the 2024 mix with a twelve-page photo booklet.
Both are SHM-CDs in Japan alone and come with liner notes, lyrics and translations; Universal Music released them on 20 March 2026. On vinyl there is a five-LP deluxe box and a four-LP slipcase edition among others. A release trailer has been posted, along with a lyric video for "Dream On" made by the Yes Please Productions directors Lucy Dawkins and Tom Readdy.
