『Fireangel』は、MYSTIC PROPHECYがダークなムードと攻撃的なパワー・メタルを結び付けた作品だ。硬いギター・リフと低く力強い歌唱が、どの曲にも戦闘的な緊張を与えている。前作で強めたダークな路線を、さらに洗練させた一枚である。 “Across the Gates of Hell”“Fireangel”“Gods of War”といった楽曲では、重さを保ちながらも、コーラスには覚えやすいフックがある。“Demons Crown”“To the Devil I Pray”“Death Under Control”のような楽曲にも、バンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。“We Kill You Die”“Fight Back the Light”“Forever Betrayed”のような楽曲にも、バンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。本作でバンドはダークで攻撃的なパワー・メタルという自らのスタイルをいっそう確固たるものにしており、低く重いギターとリアパキスの威圧感あるヴォーカルが生み出す緊張感は、このバンドならではのものだ。ダークな題材を扱いながらも一貫した推進力で聴き手を最後まで引き込む充実作である。そのバランスによって、暗い題材を扱いつつも一気に聴き通せる推進力を持っている。ダークネスと攻撃性を高い次元で両立させた、充実した一枚である。

Fireangel is a work on which MYSTIC PROPHECY bound a dark mood and aggressive power metal. Hard guitar riffs and low, powerful singing give every song a combative tension. It is a record that further refined the dark direction strengthened on the previous album. On “Across the Gates of Hell,” “Fireangel” and “Gods of War,” the choruses have memorable hooks even while keeping weight. Songs like “Demons Crown,” “To the Devil I Pray” and “Death Under Control” breathe the band’s full playing too. Through that balance, it has a drive that lets you listen through in one go even while handling dark subjects. Balancing darkness and aggression at a high level, it is a full record.
