The Hall of the Olden Dreams is a work on which DARK MOOR made high-speed rhythm, heroic choruses and keyboard ornament continue, advancing like a medieval adventure tale. It gives form to a love for early European power metal with youthful momentum. It is a fan-loved record representative of the band’s early period. On “Maid of Orleans,” “The Sound of the Blade” and “Beyond the Fire,” the richness of the melody shines. Elisa C. Martín’s high-toned vocals also greatly push up the songs’ elation. Songs like “The Ceremony,” “Silver Lake” and “Hand in Hand” breathe the band’s full playing too. They balance drive, lyricism and symphonic grace at a high level. It is one of the finest albums representative of the Elisa-era DARK MOOR.
