Autumnal is a work on which DARK MOOR romantically fused the grace of classical music and the elation of power metal. Glittering keyboards and elegant melody create a sensation like reading a story. Themed on autumn scenery, it is a record with striking lyricism. On “Swan Lake,” “Phantom Queen” and “The Enchanted Forest,” rather than pushing through by force, they value the beauty of melody and atmosphere. A love for classical music is also strong, such as a song quoting Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake.” Songs like “Faustus,” “When the Sun is Gone” and “Fallen Leaves Waltz” breathe the band’s full playing too.
