『Crazy Lixx』は、映画的なムードと80年代型ハード・ロックを、鋭いフックで鳴らすセルフタイトル作だ。前作『Riot Avenue』の硬質な路線から、『New Religion』の頃のメロディアスで華やかなスタイルへと回帰している。バンドは、一度きりしか作れないセルフタイトル作にふさわしい自信作として、本作を送り出した。 “Hell Raising Women”“Sound of the Loud Minority”“Girls of the 80's”といった、フックに満ちた楽曲が並ぶ。デビュー作のシングル“Heroes Are Forever”の再録音も収録されている。初期のシングルだった同曲は、廃盤で入手困難になっていたため、多くのファンに届けようと新たに録音し直された。マッツ・レヴィンらがバッキング・ヴォーカルでゲスト参加した。ダニー・レクソンのプロデュースによる大きな音像が全編を包む。本作にはターヴェ・ワニングもバッキング・ヴォーカルで参加している。80年代スリーズへの愛を、あらためて凝縮した、原点回帰的な会心の一枚だ。バンドの代表作の一つに数えられる、充実の一枚である。

Crazy Lixx is the self-titled album on which they play cinematic moods and 80s-style hard rock with sharp hooks. From the hard-edged direction of the previous Riot Avenue, they return to the melodic, flamboyant style of the New Religion era. The band delivered it as a confident work befitting a self-titled album, the kind you only get to make once. Hook-filled songs like "Hell Raising Women," "Sound of the Loud Minority" and "Girls of the 80's" line up. A re-recording of the debut single "Heroes Are Forever" is also included. An early single, the song had become hard to find as the debut went out of print, so it was newly recorded to reach more fans. Mats Levén and others guest on backing vocals. A big sound produced by Danny Rexon wraps the whole record. Tåve Wanning also contributes backing vocals to the album. A back-to-roots record that once again distills the band's love of 80s sleaze. An accomplished album counted among the band's signature works.
