LINER NOTES
Crown of Thorns is an album by The Crown, the death/thrash metal band formed in Trollhättan, Sweden, in 1990, and their first studio album since Royal Destroyer (2021); its title is the name the band used until it changed it in 1997. It was recorded by a line-up with drummer Mikael Norén and bassist Mattias Rasmussen, who joined in 2022, and lead guitarist Marcus Sunesson back in the band, and Jonas Kjellgren, formerly of Scar Symmetry, mixed and mastered it. The band had returned to its old label, Metal Blade Records, in 2017, and Metal Blade released the album on 11 October 2024. Marquee Inc. issued the Japanese edition, MICP-11919, on 23 October, with "Hunger (2024)" added as a bonus track for eleven in all. Before this album the band had played Japan three times, in 2013, 2015 and 2018.
