This is the 1974 Judas Priest debut Rocka Rolla, remixed and remastered for its fiftieth anniversary. The band had little money at the time and recorded at night because the studio was cheaper, under Roger Bain, who had produced Black Sabbath; they had no part in the mixing or the mastering, and Rob Halford has admitted he was disappointed the first time he heard the result. Gull Records, which owned the masters, later sold the tapes and the publishing to Reach Music Publishing, the company run by Glenn Tipton, and the discovery of the stored original multitracks made the reissue possible. Tom Allom, who produced British Steel and Screaming for Vengeance among others, did the remix; he has said nothing was added or re-recorded and that the work was rebalancing and upgrading the sound with modern tools. Victor Entertainment released the Japanese CD on 20 November 2024 as VICP-65628, with the international CD and vinyl following on 22 November. Ten tracks.
