LINER NOTES
The sixteenth album from Arizona's dramatic thrash metal band Flotsam and Jetsam, their first in two years after 2024's I Am the Weapon, released by Napalm Records on 28 August 2026. Known as well for having given Metallica its long-serving bassist Jason Newsted, they reach this record exactly forty years on from Doomsday for the Deceiver, the technical, dramatic oddity of a debut that introduced them. A major-label spell in the 1990s pulled them toward melodic and progressive ground, but they turned back to thrash aggression and heavy metal attack, and since the 2010s each album has come faster and harder than the last. This is their first release after nearly a decade with Germany's AFM Records, whose closure moved them to the Austrian label Napalm. Singer Eric A.K. has called the uneasy, aggressive title track one of the most technically demanding songs the band has ever recorded; its video is out now.
