Conqueress - Forever Strong and Proud is a twenty-song double album marking forty years of Doro Pesch. If there is an original among women singing heavy metal it is her: Warlock, the band she fronted in the 1980s, charted in the United States as well as at home in Germany, and she has led a band under her own name since 1989. In Germany she is a household figure well beyond metal. Counting from Warlock's formation in 1983, 2023 was the fortieth year, and the record is scaled accordingly — heavy and hard but consistently catchy, sung with the authority of four decades near the front of the scene. Rob Halford of Judas Priest appears on two tracks, including a cover of "Living After Midnight", and Sammy Amara of Broilers guests as well. Ward Records released the Japanese edition, with a Japanese essay and translated lyrics, on 27 October 2023 as GQCS-91386.
