Peaceville reissue Cradle Of Filth's ninth album, first released on 1 November 2010, as a single-disc mid-price CD. It is a concept record about Lilith — in Jewish tradition Adam's first wife, who left him rather than submit, and the Venus Aversa of the title, love's goddess turned away. Orchestration and a thick, cinematic production sit under savage riffing, Dani Filth's tearing delivery and drumming that rarely lets up; Filth said at the time that it was the fastest and most brutal thing the band had made. It is the only Cradle Of Filth album with the keyboard player Ashley Ellyllon, and the last for the bassist Dave Pybus and the guitarist James McIlroy. Two of its songs, "Lilith Immaculate" and "Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned)", were given music videos. This edition adds three bonus tracks — "Beast Of Extermination", "Truth & Agony" and "Behind The Jagged Mountains" — for fourteen in all, and reaches Japan as an import on 16 October 2026.
