Dissonance Theory

Coroner's Dissonance Theory came out through Century Media Records on 17 October 2025, the Swiss technical metal band's first album since 1993's Grin, and DIW on METAL followed on 22 October with a first-pressing Japanese double CD (DYMC-6098). Singer and bassist Ron Broder and guitarist Tommy Vetterli play with drummer Diego Rapacchietti, who took over from Marky Edelmann a couple of years after the band's return. Vetterli says ideas date from around 2015 but sessions only began in June 2023; he recorded the album at his own New Sound Studios, Jens Bogren mixed and mastered it in Sweden, and Vetterli calls it the first Coroner album he is fully satisfied with. The Japanese set's bonus disc carries Death Cult, the four-song 1986 demo with Tom G. Warrior of Hellhammer, Celtic Frost and Triptykon singing, which Century Media also includes in its limited 2CD mediabook. The ten album tracks run about 47 minutes; the band's channel has videos for "Renewal" and "Symmetry", directed by Dariusz Szermanowicz, plus a lyric video for "Consequence".
