The thirteenth studio album by Amon Amarth, the melodic death / Viking metal band formed in Tumba, Sweden in 1992, and their first since 2022's The Great Heathen Army. Metal Blade Records issue it worldwide on 2 October 2026, with Victor Entertainment's Japanese edition, VICP-65659, the same day. Jacob Hansen produced it at his studio in Denmark in two sessions months apart, spring 2025 and March 2026. Writing began while the band were still touring, and guitarist Olavi Mikkonen describes finishing each song before starting the next. Metal Blade say it is not a concept album but separate songs drawn from history, with Oden behind the words and artwork as before; the sleeve is a portrait of the god by Tom Thiel, who has painted seven of their covers. Johan Hegg sings; Olavi Mikkonen and Johan Söderberg play guitar, Ted Lundström bass, Jocke Wallgren drums. "We Rule the Waves" came with a video in July 2025, and "Upphaf", their first acoustic song, followed in July 2026 with the opener "Gjallarhorn". The international edition has ten songs; the Japanese CD adds live recordings of "Heidrun" (Graspop 2023) and "Put Your Back into the Oar" (Hellfest 2023). Twelve songs.
