Fair Warning is the fourth album on which VAN HALEN, while keeping their light party feel, stepped into a darker, more tense guitar sound. Eddie Van Halen shows vivid technique while building riffs and tones that dominate the songs’ whole air. It is a record on which the band’s shadow side is reflected more strongly than ever.
On the tense intro of “Mean Street” and the powerful riff of “Unchained,” over the thick groove of Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony, David Lee Roth’s voice dances provocatively.
