De Profundis

The album was recorded in May 1995 at Modern Sound Studio in Gdynia, Poland, produced by Piotr Wiwczarek and Adam Toczko and mastered by Grzegorz Piwkowski. Croon Records issued it in Poland and Pavement Music in the United States, though the American pressing carried no lyrics and a plain inner layout. The playing drives on speed and precision, and the titles over it are drawn from Mesopotamian and Egyptian myth — "Blood of Kingu" and "Sothis" among them. It sold roughly seventeen thousand copies in Poland in two weeks. A live video for "Incarnation" was shot at the Marlboro Sopot Rock Festival there. In 2003 Metal Mind Productions reissued the record with a cover of Depeche Mode's "I Feel You" added, and a Japanese edition with two extra tracks had appeared in 1997 through Avalon and Marquee. The running order here is the original's as printed.
