Gate of Hell

Gate of Hell came out on 3 June 2026 as the sixth Unlucky Morpheus album and the second half of a pair: Gate of Heaven had appeared the previous November. In the description of the "Onikobe" music video the band call it the concept album that forms a pair with Gate of Heaven, and tell the listener to sink into the darkest, most chaotic world they have written. The songs are written the way this band has written since it started — lyrics by Fuki, music by Shiren. The first part of the record to be heard was the single Zen'aku no Higan on 24 December 2025, and both of its songs, "Zen'aku no Higan" and "∞", are carried over here unchanged. The album trailer went up in May 2026, with the video for "Onikobe" around the same time. The last two tracks are re-recordings. "affected" and "Get Revenge On The Tyrant" were the opening pair of the 2014 debut of the same name. Gate of Heaven did the same thing with "Satsuriku no Miseria" from that record, so the two halves of this pair both reach back twelve years to the first album. "Onikobe" is written as a revenge tale, its lyric built from old Japanese — a crone crossing a mountain pass, a hand-ball counting song, the hour when demons walk. Fuki's writing for this band has leaned on that vocabulary for several records now, and this is where it goes furthest.
