Decadent is the fifteenth album, released by U.D.O. having newly gained a family bond. Alongside Udo Dirkschneider, Andrey Smirnov (guitar), Kasperi Heikkinen (guitar) and Fitty Wienhold (bass), Udo's son Sven Dirkschneider joined as drummer. The songs were mainly written by Udo and Wienhold, driving the strength of hard heavy metal without hesitation.
On "Speeder" and "Decadent," hard riffs, steel-like vocals and driving rhythm clash head-on. Fast numbers have a fist-raising drive, and mid-tempo ones bring out a heavy-footed groove. Son Sven's powerful drumming gives the band fresh dynamism. A fulfilling work that is modern and powerful enough in sound while keeping the aesthetics of classic metal.
