The Greatest Gift of All

The Greatest Gift of All, the long-awaited Christmas album, was released on 21 November 2025 through Frontiers Music Srl, announced by the label as a physical-formats-only release framed as a collectible. It splits five and five: five traditional Christmas songs and five originals. Two of them — "Reason for the Season" and "Winter Wonderland" — are re-recordings of songs that first appeared on a 1985 single and were then carried onto the 1986 re-release of the debut EP, which means the band's Christmas material is forty years old. Michael Sweet says the two stay true to the original arrangements but are tuned down half a step, and that they deliberately dropped the spoken joking intro from "Winter Wonderland." There is one first here in the playing as well: Sweet says every guitar solo on the album was played in harmony, something the band had never done on any previous record.
