Unfinished Business is a work on which SHY brought together big choruses, melancholic vocal melody and refined guitar work, re-presenting the appeal of British melodic hard rock. The songs are refined, but a live-feeling heat remains in the playing. It is a record that newly re-polished the band’s unreleased songs and older works.
On “Skydiving,” “Heaven Tonight” and “Can't Stop Loving You,” the emotion of ballads and the exhilaration of rock numbers give the album a rich expression. Songs like “Change of Direction” and “Communicate” breathe the band’s full playing too. Tony Mills’s voice keeps its power while increasing in maturity.
