Liner Notes

Eight (stylized Ei8ht) is the eighth album, on which Shinedown polishes the power of contemporary American hard rock together with big melodies that also reach toward pop. Released on Atlantic in May 2026, it was produced by bassist Eric Bass, following the previous album, and made at his own studio in South Carolina. The guitar and rhythm are thickly shaped, and the songs carry a radio-ready clarity while keeping enough weight. Singing that delivers emotion head-on is at the center, turning weakness and anger into big choruses. Ahead of its release, the album was preceded by several singles, including "Three Six Five," "Dance, Kid, Dance," "Killing Fields" and "Searchlight," all of which drew attention. The distribution of heavy moments, quiet introductions and expansive choruses is clear, and the album never leaves the listener behind. Beyond the strength of its sonic impact, the placement of piano and choruses that support the lyrics' emotion is worth attention. Even after a long career, it is a mainstream work in true Shinedown fashion, binding the scale of rock with everyday empathy.
