Amaryllis is the fourth album, widening Shinedown's drama with big choruses and a modern rock sound. Rob Cavallo produced again, following the previous album, aiming for a more open sound around powerful riffs and melodic choruses. Balancing aggression and accessibility, the band pushed a positive message to the front. The lead single "Bully" is a signature song about self-respect, and the following "Unity" sings of solidarity — both gaining wide popularity. On songs like "Enemies" and "I'll Follow You," dramatic development and emotional melody are bound together. Smith's powerful voice gives firm conviction to the introspective lyrics. The album reached number four on the US Billboard 200, showing the band's popularity anew. It combines weight, brightness and a large sense of scale.
