Rush 50 is a four-CD anthology issued by Anthem on 21 March 2025. The Japanese pressing is a four-disc SHM-CD set (JAN 4988031758441) of fifty tracks running about four hours and forty-two minutes, assembled for the band's fiftieth year, and the material reaches from 1973 into the 2010s.
The first two tracks state the collection's purpose plainly. 'Not Fade Away' and "You Can't Fight It" are the two sides of the single Rush pressed themselves in 1973, and neither made the 1974 debut album Rush. 'Working Man' follows in a take marked 'vault edition', and 'The Trees' on the second disc is handled the same way.
From there the sequence runs chronologically, alternating studio and live recordings. 'Fly by Night', 'Bastille Day', '2112 Overture / The Temples of Syrinx', 'Closer to the Heart', 'The Spirit of Radio', 'Tom Sawyer' and 'Subdivisions' mark out the eras, with live readings of 'Xanadu', 'La Villa Strangiato', 'YYZ', 'Freewill' and 'Red Barchetta' set between them. It ends on the medley "What You're Doing / Working Man / Garden Road" — four discs that opened on the first single close by returning to the oldest material the band had.
