Behind the Curtain

Behind the Curtain is an EP Royal Hunt released in 2025. The Japanese pressing appeared on King Records on 24 October as a limited edition (KICP-94101, JAN 4988003661526); the international release followed on North Point Productions on 5 November as a deluxe edition with a documentary DVD. It collects unreleased and alternative recordings rather than presenting a new album. 'Ride Into the Sunset' opens in a single version; 'The Mission' and 'Last Goodbye' are live recordings from 2023; 'Half Past Loneliness' and 'Sign of Yesterday' are acoustic performances. The international edition adds a remix of 'Fistful of Misery' for six tracks in all. The Japanese pressing holds five and runs about thirty minutes. 'The Mission' is the title track of the 2001 album and 'Sign of Yesterday' comes from 1997's Paradox, so the material is drawn from right across the band's thirty-odd years. In sequence it sits after 2020's Dystopia and its sequel Dystopia Part II, filling the space before the next studio record.
