LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
The second album by Razor, out of Ontario, and a record that bet everything on speed. It was recorded in July 1985 at Phase One Studios in Toronto and released by Viper Records in October that year as the 12-inch VPR 112, with Stace "Sheepdog" McLaren on vocals, Dave Carlo on guitar, Mike Campagnolo on bass and Mike "M-Bro" Embro on drums.
All ten songs are short and there is almost nowhere that lets up. The riffing of "Cross Me Fool", the title track, "Speed Merchants" and "Thrashdance" chooses to run the distance rather than work the detail, and the sound of what gets called Canadian speed/thrash is here. A video was made for the title track.
Set beside the American and German records of the same years, the roughness of the recording included, the underground air is thicker. The running order here is the original's as printed.
