Katharsis

Katharsis is the twelfth Praying Mantis studio album, released by Frontiers Music on 28 January 2022 — a little under four years after Gravity, and across a stretch in which the world had stopped. Eleven songs, about fifty-three minutes. The fourth, "Non Omnis Moriar", takes its title from Horace: not all of me shall die. It is a good example of how this band picks words for a song title, and the company it keeps — "Ain't No Rock 'n' Roll in Heaven", "The Devil Never Changes" — tells you what colour runs under the record. Frontiers' channel put out a music video for "Cry for the Nations" on 18 November 2021 and one for "Closer to Heaven" on 16 December, ahead of the release; a lyric video for "Non Omnis Moriar" followed on 8 March 2022. Marquee Incorporated released the Japanese edition on the same day, 28 January, as MICP-11678, adding an acoustic version of "Find Our Way Back Home" as a Japan-only bonus for twelve tracks.
