UNISØN

UNISØN is PaleNeØ's second maxi single, released by VAA on May 13, 2026 in two editions — a standard CD (PNO-006) and a limited CD+DVD set (PNO-007). Its stated theme is departure. REOTO proposed the title: with the band's third anniversary approaching, the idea was to stop for a moment and have everyone, players and listeners alike, face the same way again. Three songs were chosen from around seven demos. The disc carries “Prologue,” “Chocolat Maudit” and “Starlight Voyage,” each followed by a karaoke version. The lead track, “Starlight Voyage,” was written by asanuko — the costumes and the departure concept were settled first, and the song came afterwards. “Prologue” went by the working title “Jungle”; its lyric imagines the weapon shop in an RPG's opening town, it is tuned to drop A, and it is the only track here with a full scream part. “Chocolat Maudit” was worked on as “waltz metal” and had been requested for some time by vocalist Hohomi, an admirer of Ave Mujica; REOTO calls it the song that embodies the “Paleo” half of the band's name and sings operatically on it. The limited edition's DVD adds the “Starlight Voyage” video and its behind-the-scenes footage, “Moudouka” and “in Gloria Dei” filmed at Tokyo SpaceOdd on May 11, 2025, and an alternate-ending cut of the “Raison d'etre” video. The single reached number 14 on Oricon's daily album chart (May 12, 2026), number 2 on both the weekly rock singles and weekly indie singles charts (May 25, 2026), and number 3 on Tower Records' all-store weekly J-INDIES chart for the week of May 11–17. Streaming and download release followed on June 3, and the national one-man tour named after the record, PaleNeØ Tour 2026 “Voyage in UNISØN,” opened on May 16 at Fuji ANIMAL NEST in Shizuoka.
