LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
The first Overkill album to go out through a major, Atlantic, who would carry them all the way to W.F.O. in 1994. It was recorded from September to December 1986 at Pyramid Sound Studios in Ithaca, New York, produced by the band with Alex Perialas. The roughness of the debut is tidied up and each song has a clearer job to do. "Deny the Cross", "Wrecking Crew" and "In Union We Stand" make both the speed and the singalong work at once, and that is the shape Overkill would keep for decades. The closing "Overkill II (The Nightmare Continues)" is a sequel to "Overkill", the song that closed the debut. It is also the last album with drummer Rat Skates, who left that year and was replaced by Sid Falck. The running order here is the original's as printed.
