Deliverance (25th Anniversary)

OPETH recorded Deliverance, their sixth studio album, in the summer of 2002 at Maestro Musik and Studio Fredman, by the credits on the band's own site: Mikael Akerfeldt produced it with Steven Wilson as co-producer, and Andy Sneap mixed it with the band. Akerfeldt, Peter Lindgren, Martin Mendez and Martin Lopez are the players, and Wilson adds lead guitar to "Master's Apprentices", backing vocals to "A Fair Judgement" and grand piano to "For Absent Friends". The 25th Anniversary edition keeps all six songs, from "Wreath" to "By the Pain I See in Others", in their original order, and the 2002 photograph on the sleeve; what is new there is the lettering, with the logo, the title and "25th Anniversary" now set in one line across the top. It is a different product from the four-disc Deliverance & Damnation set of 2015, which carried Bruce Soord's remix of this album and Wilson's of Damnation. Its date is 27 November 2026, on Music For Nations, as a CD and as a double LP on coloured vinyl, Crystal Clear and a Black Clouds pressing limited to 1,000 copies among them.
