Kids in a Ghost Town
Nestor’s debut openly celebrates eighties melodic rock, but it carries more warmth than a simple revival exercise.

Liner Notes
Kids in a Ghost Town is a debut album released thirty-two years after the band formed. Five childhood friends started Nestor in 1989 in Falköping, a small Swedish town, and by the mid-1990s it had gone to sleep: education, families, separate careers. The name nods to the wise old man of Greek myth, but the truth is that they are all Tintin readers and took it from Captain Haddock's butler. In 2017 they surfaced exactly once, contributing a five-track EP to the video game Cities: Skylines and appearing in it as avatars. Then, in the pandemic year of 2021, they actually came back.
Tobias Gustavsson produced it himself. Sebastian Forslund of The Night Flight Orchestra mixed, and Thomas “Plec” Johansson mastered at The Panic Room. Andreas Carlsson, who has written for Bon Jovi and Europe, joined in on the writing. In the video for “On the Run,” Gustavsson drives a Volvo around collecting his old bandmates. On “Tomorrow,” the 1980s icon Samantha Fox sings. Three videos passed a million views between them before release, and the album earned a nomination for a Swedish Grammis.
