LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
This is the third album by the Swedish grindcore band: twenty-two songs, and the reviews were unanimous. Mitch Harris of Napalm Death made a live video for "Scoop", and Shane Embury from the same band plays bass on "Drop Dead" and "Whip".
Tom Morgan of Invisible Oranges described the record as "relentless extreme metal mayhem" and noted that "the production is especially crisp and brittle for a grindcore album". He also wrote that it captures "the band at their most confident and well-realised", calling it "a grindcore album for the ages".
In February 2009 Terrorizer placed it second in its list of essential European grindcore albums, with Olivier "Zoltar" Badin describing it as "confirming Nasum as the undisputed kings of the new wave of Swedish grindcore"; that December the same magazine named it the 47th greatest album of the 2000s. Eduardo Rivadavia of AllMusic gave it four and a half stars out of five: "Easily among the best grindcore albums of the new millennium, Helvete is an absolute winner." The running order here is the original's as printed.
