Satanic Curses

Satanic Curses is a work on which MYSTIC PROPHECY built dark power metal, centered on low, heavy guitar and intimidating vocals. The songs do not rely on speed alone, deepening an ominous air with a mid-tempo center of gravity. As the title indicates, it is a record that pursued a more evil, dark worldview than before. On “Back from the Dark,” “Dark Forces” and “Satanic Curses,” accessibility is also kept through strong choruses and melody. A cover of Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” is also included, hinting at the band’s roots. Songs like “Sacrifice Me,” “Demons Blood” and “Grave of Thousand Lies” breathe the band’s full playing too. It is a full record on which hard-nosed heaviness and lyricism stand in balance.
