LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
This is the first full-length record by a Portuguese band. Most of the words are in English, but "Trebaruna" is written in Portuguese and the chorus of "Alma Mater" is too. Trebaruna is the name of an old Iberian deity, which shows how far the album reaches into the mythology of its own ground.
"An Erotic Alchemy" is a duet, taking its idea from the writing of the Marquis de Sade and quoting a passage of it. The female voice is Birgit Zacher's. The logo was drawn by Christophe Szpajdel and the cover art is by Axel Hermann.
In July 2010 it was reported that the Portuguese postal service, CTT, would represent this album on one of a set of stamps marking the most significant moments and records in the country's rock music. Not many metal albums have been treated that way. The running order here is the original's as printed.
