LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
This is a record made by a Finnish family. Ville Sorvali plays bass and sings, his cousin Henri Sorvali handles guitars, vocals, keyboards, accordion and harmonica, Marko Tarvonen plays drums, timpani and twelve-string guitar and Mitja Harvilahti plays guitar; Janne Perttila and others joined for the choirs and handclaps.
Ahti Kortelainen produced, recorded and mixed it, and Mika Jussila — the standard name on Finnish metal records — mastered it. Skrymer drew the cover and Toni Harkonen took the photographs.
Five of the six pieces have been played live over the years; "Hiidenpelto" is the one exception. "Sankarihauta", "Kylan paassa" and "Aurinko ja Kuu" were first performed in late 2001, and "Sankaritarina" no later than 2004, usually as an encore, though it was not played complete until 2011. Since 2007 "Tyven" has often been run from tape before "Sankarihauta". The running order here is the original's as printed.
