Discovery

Discovery is the fifth Metalite album and the first they have made for a new label. After Inner Wound Recordings for the debut and AFM Records for albums two to four, this one arrives worldwide through Perception, a division of Reigning Phoenix Music. The story continues where the last one stopped. Expedition One was set in 2055 and followed a renegade crew leaving a ruined Earth for somewhere else. Discovery takes place three years later, in 2058, and asks what became of the people who left. Its twelve songs work through that in terms of human evolution, dependence on technology, survival, liberation and hope. "Cyberspace" and "Triforce" go into neon-lit virtual worlds; "Captive In The Past" stays with the people who cannot escape the shadow of a dying planet; "Into The Maze" and "Neon Rain" take the dystopian tension. At the centre is "Starchild", which the band's own announcement describes as a song about renewal and healing, and as the arrival of a mysterious figure who brings hope to broken worlds. The method has not changed. Edwin Premberg writes and Jacob Hansen mixes and masters — Hansen has worked on all five albums, starting with Heroes In Time — and that pairing has held for a decade. For Erik Junttila Johansson, who joined on drums in 2024, this is a first studio record with the band. Five songs went out ahead of it: "Our Time Has Come" on 26 February 2026, "Starchild" on 24 April, "In Case Of Emergency" on 29 May, "Echoes Of You" on 24 July, and "The Metal Elite" on 4 September, three weeks before the album. "Starchild" and "Echoes Of You" got music videos, "In Case Of Emergency" and "The Metal Elite" visualisers. Ward Records releases the Japanese edition on the same 25 September as GQCS-91784, with a Japanese booklet and translated lyrics. Its running order is the international one, twelve songs, with nothing added.
