11 Dreams

11 Dreams is Mercenary's third album, on which they broadened the expressive power of melodic death metal by fusing clean singing, death growls and complex riffs. For many fans, it is the signature work regarded as the band's true starting point. With Martin Buus joining on lead guitar, the twin-guitar melodies grew richer. Mike Park also joined on drums, raising the technical level of the playing further. Progressive, complex arrangements and catchy melodies balance at a high level. Dramatic, structured songs like "Firesoul," "World Hate Center" and "reDestructDead" line up. The contrast between Kral's death growls and Sandager's clean vocals heightens the drama of the songs. This album brought the band international attention, leading to tours with the likes of Nevermore and Evergrey. One of their finest records, raising the bar for Danish metal. It was later reissued through Century Media, reaching a wider audience. A work that grows richer with each listen, showing the band at their best. Its dynamic structure and carefully crafted melodies sustain the tension across the whole record.
