Hordes of Chaos

Hordes of Chaos was recorded at Titonus Studios in Germany over July and August 2008, produced by Moses Schneider, live to analogue tape with few overdubs. Kreator had not worked that way since Pleasure to Kill in 1986, and it gave them their most organic record. It came out on 13 January 2009 in North America, on the 16th in Germany and on 4 February in Japan on Metal Frontier. The band is Mille Petrozza on vocals and rhythm guitar, Sami Yli-Sirniö on lead guitar, Christian Giesler on bass and Ventor on drums. It reached number sixteen in Germany and in Finland and number twenty-five on the British rock and metal chart, and around 2,800 copies in its first week took it to number 165 on the Billboard 200 — the band's first appearance on an American chart. Beside the standard jewel case there was a deluxe edition with a documentary DVD and an LP with different artwork. The running order here is the original's as printed.
