Starting Over

Starting Over is KOIAI's fourth EP, released by Ferment Label on July 15, 2026 (catalog number FRMT-009). Vocalist Mirei Sakurada had joined in November 2025, and bassist Yunika Impact became an official member in March 2026, settling the line-up as a five-piece alongside Li-sa-X (guitar), Hazuki (guitar) and Kanade Sato (drums). This EP is that line-up's first record. Ferment Label itself was new: Nippon TV and Nippon TV Music launched it in May 2026 as a 360-degree artist business, and KOIAI was announced as its first signing. The five tracks are "Starting Over," "Reboot the Abyss," "Once in a lifetime," "Hoax" and "Meant to be." The title track was issued ahead of the EP as a digital single on June 3, 2026, with a music video following on July 6; a second video, for "Reboot the Abyss," arrived on July 14. "Starting Over" was also used as the August 2026 ending theme for Nippon TV's morning programme DayDay. The band played Heavy Kawaii Fes 2026 from July 31 to August 2 and then opened the KOIAI LIVE TOUR 2026 "Starting Over" in Fukuoka on August 10. The title states plainly what the record is: the point where a vocalist change and a completed five-piece line-up became a new beginning.
