LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
What the band were listening to at this point was not metal. Jonas Renkse has named Jeff Buckley and Radiohead. The album includes a cover of Buckley's "Nightmares by the Sea", and that choice alone says where their attention was.
Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth was present for the recording. A close friend of Renkse's, he helped record and produce it and worked through ideas for the vocal tracks with them. Joakim Petterson and Tomas Skogsberg engineered, Mia Lorentzson mastered and Travis Smith made the artwork.
A band that had started in death-doom drops the growling, sings clean, and holds its gloom inside the shape of a rock song: that direction is settled here. A reissue with two additional tracks followed in 2003. The running order here is the original's as printed.
