The Fourth Legacy

LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
The Fourth Legacy is a breakthrough on which KAMELOT gathered heavy riffs, flowing keyboards and narrative melody to paint a grand power-metal world. On this, their second album with Roy Khan, the band established its own style and laid the foundation that would carry into the golden era. With drummer Casey Grillo joining, a new drive was added on the rhythmic side as well. Rather than winning on speed alone, it places tension and quiet in each song, giving the whole a cinematic breadth. On “Nights of Arabia,” “The Fourth Legacy,” “Until Kingdom Come” and “Silent Goddess,” Middle-Eastern, exotic melody and stately arrangement are used effectively, vividly drawing KAMELOT’s own sound world. On “New Allegiance,” “The Shadow of Uther,” “A Sailorman’s Hymn” and “Lunar Sanctum” too, detailed arrangement and grand melody join tightly. With vocal expression and detailed arrangement making the drama still sharper, it is highly regarded as an important work that defined the later image of KAMELOT.
