Liner Notes
Unification is the second album on which Iron Savior, using mechanically chopped riffs, heavy, powerful rhythm and valiant vocal melody, builds hard, steel-like power metal. It further refines the fusion of a sci-fi concept and traditional metal shown on the debut. The sound density is very high, yet its choruses always have clear, memorable melody, by no means ending as a merely inorganic sound. A record on which Kai Hansen also continued to participate.
The catchy, powerful opening anthem “Coming Home” still boasts high popularity as one of the band’s signature songs. From the drama of “Starborn” and the valiance of “Brothers (Of the Past)” to cuts like “Forces of Rage” and “Deadly Sleep,” a futuristic world and human, hot singing intersect, generating a distinctive lift in the album. A truly German-power-metal-like record that beautifully unites weighty heaviness and heroic lift. It firmly supports a grand concept with sure playing and powerful songs. With this work as his last, Kai Hansen departed to focus on Gamma Ray, yet the band’s musical core was already established. A powerful record showing early Iron Savior’s fullness.
