Live After Death

This is the record of the World Slavery Tour, mounted behind Powerslave, and the band's first live album. Martin Birch produced it, and EMI released it as a double LP on 14 October 1985, with Capitol handling the United States. The first three sides were taped at the Long Beach Arena in California between 14 and 17 March 1985, and the fourth at the Hammersmith Odeon in London between 8 and 12 October 1984. The line-up is Bruce Dickinson on vocals, Dave Murray and Adrian Smith on guitars, Steve Harris on bass and Nicko McBrain on drums. Opening with Churchill's speech and going straight into "Aces High" is the shape of the stage show itself. Steve Harris is known to have insisted that nothing be replaced in the studio afterwards, so the rough edges and the crowd are both still there. It reached number 2 in the UK, 19 in the US and 7 on the Oricon chart, and was certified platinum in the United States. The running order here is the original double LP's as printed.
