No Regrets is a work on which HARDCORE SUPERSTAR sounded punk-leaning rock ’n’ roll using gritty guitar, a bouncing beat and spat-out singing. While having flashy hooks, the sound is rougher than before, with a raw momentum to the fore. It is a record that becomes the culmination of the band’s early punk/glam direction.
On “Wall of Complaint,” “No Regrets” and “Breakout,” short songs race through one after another, conveying the band’s danger and playfulness at once. Songs like “Honey Tongue,” “Pathetic Way of Life” and “It's So True” breathe the band’s full playing too. It is energetic content that widened the frame of sleaze rock. After this, the band would steer greatly toward a heavier direction. Condensing the early momentum, it is a powerful record.
