Welcome To The Future

Welcome to the Future is the eighth album by H.E.A.T, the second since Kenny Leckremo's return. Released on earMUSIC, it advances the band's melodic rock through modern drive and arena-sized choruses while building on 1980s sense of form. Firm guitars, driving keyboards and Leckremo's soaring, expressive voice mesh at a high level, making the momentum of the fresh start shown on the previous album Force Majeure still more certain. Even after a long career, the sound is fresh and dynamic. The lead single “Disaster” opens the album sharply with retro keyboards and thick guitars, and “Bad Time for Love” and “Running to You” press on with catchy hooks. On “The End” and “Children of the Storm,” dramatic melody and clever construction mesh at a high level. Songs like “Tear It Down (R.N.R.R.)” carry a Dio-like lift and playfulness. An approach that keeps tension to the end through strong hooks and detailed arrangement, rather than relying wholly on speed and weight, vividly shows why they stand out in today's melodic rock scene.
