In the Eye of the Storm (Live)

In the Eye of the Storm (Live) is the soundtrack to Foreigner 50: In The Eye Of The Storm, the documentary concert film marking the band's fiftieth anniversary. Recorded in New York in September 2025, the album splits evenly into two halves: an electric set performed on Ellis Island, within sight of the Statue of Liberty, and an acoustic set played on the rooftop of DUMBO House overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge. The electric half opens with “Double Vision” and runs through “Feels Like the First Time,” “I Want to Know What Love Is” and “Hot Blooded” — songs that define the band's five decades. The setting matters: a band named for its mixed British-American membership, playing at America's historic gateway for immigrants. The acoustic half loosens “Blue Morning, Blue Day” and “Fool for You Anyway,” stretches “Juke Box Hero” past seven minutes, and reaches for Simon & Garfunkel's “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” “Hot Blooded” appears once in each set, so the two temperatures of the same song can be heard side by side. The result is both a celebration and a document of where Foreigner stands today: proof of how completely Mick Jones's songs survive any arrangement, and of how the current lineup carries that legacy forward.
