The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 1

The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 1 is the first chapter of a two-part set Five Finger Death Punch released the same year — a record that binds heavy riffs and huge choruses with linear aggression. Kevin Churko produced. Packing the band's signature low-end grooves and fist-raising anthemic singing at high density, it reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It also hit No. 3 in Canada and No. 21 in the UK, underscoring the band's growing international reach. The lead single "Lift Me Up," featuring Judas Priest's Rob Halford as a guest, is a signature song that topped the Mainstream Rock chart. From the shadowed melody of the socially charged title track "Wrong Side of Heaven" to the surprise of the LL Cool J cover "Mama Said Knock You Out," songs of wide range line up. High-impact numbers like "Burn MF" remain alive, and Ivan Moody's alternation of singing and screams drives the whole record. It powerfully opens the ambitious concept of a double album.
