Down IV – Part II

The second of the four EPs the band had planned as Down IV. It came out in the United States on 13 May 2014; the British CD, RR 7575-2, appeared the day before. It was recorded where the first one was, at Anselmo's home studio Nodferatu's Lair, and produced by Michael Thompson with the band. Thompson and Stephen Berrigan engineered, Thompson and Anselmo mixed, and Eric Conn mastered. Kirk Windstein had left the band in the summer of 2013 and Bobby Landgraf played guitar in his place. Windstein came back in 2019, which makes these six songs the only studio recording Down made while he was away. In Japan the two halves were coupled: the domestic edition Warner Music Japan bill as Down IV Part 1&2, WPCR-15739, put all twelve songs on one disc on 9 July 2014 -- which is also how the first EP, issued here only as an import, became available as a domestic release. The running order here is the original release's as printed.
