Adrenalize

Adrenalize is a work DEF LEPPARD completed after losing Steve Clark, marshalling the band’s multilayered choruses, hard guitar and immediate melody. From the momentum of “Let's Get Rocked” to the breadth of the ballads, the songs are designed to fill large venues. It is a moving record the remaining members completed, overcoming the tragedy of guitarist Clark’s death the previous year. The sound craft is polished to the extreme, but at the center is the drive of the songs themselves. Songs like “Make Love Like a Man,” “Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad” and “Tonight” breathe the band’s full melodic sense too. Balancing pop and weight even past a hard period, it reached No. 1 on both the US and UK charts, proving anew that the band’s popularity was at its peak — a tough, DEF LEPPARD-style record.
