Act III is Death Angel's third album, on which they layered dynamic developments and lyricism onto thrash's sharpness to greatly widen their expressive range. Their only major-label release, issued on Geffen Records, it was produced by Max Norman, known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne and others. Keeping the thrash elements of the previous two albums while taking in varied influences like funk, folk and progressive rock, it built a darker, more mature sound. It is also the last album to feature Gus Pepa. The single "Seemingly Endless Time" and the acoustic ballad "A Room with a View" are signature songs, both aired on MTV's Headbangers Ball. It achieved success entering the charts in several European countries. But while touring on this album, the band suffered a tour-bus accident, and with Galeon seriously injured they went into hiatus. Ten years after the split, in 2001, the band reunited on the occasion of the Thrash of the Titans benefit show supporting Testament's Chuck Billy through his illness. A high point of their early years, still renowned as a classic.
