It was released on 17 October 2006 on Roadrunner Records. Roadrunner Japan had put the Japanese edition out six days earlier, on 11 October, as RRCY-21265, with a cover of Samhain's "Halloween II" added as a bonus track. Rob Caggiano, formerly of Anthrax, produced it; Dan Turner engineered and Andy Sneap mixed. Doug Bradley narrates, as he had on Midian and Nymphetamine. Ville Valo of HIM sings on "The Byronic Man", and Dirty Harry appears on the closing cover of Heaven 17's "Temptation". The keyboard player Martin Powell had left in 2005, so this is the band's second album as a five-piece. It is the last with the drummer Adrian Erlandsson and the only full-length album with the guitarist Charles Hedger. Twelve tracks, 64 minutes and 44 seconds.
