LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
It was released on 10 March 2003, through Sony in Europe and Epic in the United States. It is the only Cradle of Filth album made for a major label; the band moved to Roadrunner afterwards. It was recorded in August and September 2002 at Parkgate Studios in East Sussex and New Rising Studios in Peldon, and produced by Doug Cook with the band.
The subtitle is From Genesis to Nemesis... It takes John Milton's Paradise Lost as its ground and tells the fallen angel's story in four movements, named I Fantasia Down, II Paradise Lost, III Sewer Side Up and IV The Scented Garden.
The hundred-and-one-piece Budapest Film Orchestra plays across the whole of it, including the forty-piece Budapest Film Choir; nothing else in the band's catalogue is scored on that scale. Seventeen tracks, 76 minutes and 53 seconds.
