Absolute Elsewhere is the fourth studio album by the American band Blood Incantation, released on 4 October 2024 through Century Media. It is named after the progressive rock group Absolute Elsewhere.
It was recorded in the summer of 2023 at Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin and produced by Arthur Rizk, who had previously worked with the thrash band Power Trip. The band said in an interview that they hired an extra nine thousand euros' worth of synth equipment for the sessions. Singer and guitarist Paul Riedl described it as their most potent audial extract and musical trip yet, like the soundtrack to a Herzog-style science-fiction epic about the history of, and the battle for, human consciousness itself, by way of a 1970s prog album played by a 1990s death metal band from the future.
On 27 September 2024 the band released "The Stargate", the first piece, with a short film directed by Michael Ragen and produced by Mindy Kelly, and a 73-minute documentary, All Gates Open: In Search Of Absolute Elsewhere, appeared alongside the album. Thorsten Quaeschning of the German electronic group Tangerine Dream contributed synths to "The Stargate [Tablet II]". The record is two suites of three parts each, six tracks in all.
